Transforming Power Generation and Distribution 

America is confronting a significant energy crisis, especially in our power generation and distribution infrastructure.  

√ Electrical power stations generate electricity at just 30% efficiency from fossil fuels and lose an additional 10 to 15% during distribution.

 

√ Somewhere between 60 and 70% of the energy produced by these stations is lost in the form of heat and is wasted through evaporation into the atmosphere from large cooling towers.

 

√ The U.S. electrical grid is pressurized to the point that large alternative energy projects in remote locations have difficulty being utilized effectively.   

 

Attempts to decentralize power generation and use cogeneration in the form of steam have not solved these challenges because centralized steam distribution is only 50% efficient at the load.
