EXPERIENCE TO DESIGN
YOUR BEST ENERGY SOLUTION
PSI Engineers the System
After an Energy Assessment is accepted, PSI moves to the next step in the design process and produces a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER).
√ Existing equipment is inventoried and verified.
√ Detailed concept engineering drawings are created.
√ Detailed cost estimates are developed in consultation with preferred contractors.
√ The recommended energy model and estimated savings analysis are updated to reflect engineering review results.
√ Proposals are presented for project implementation.
In the PER, PSI establishes a System Definition, in essence a master engineering plan from which a preferred engineering firm will be asked to develop a schedule of needed drawings. The engineering firm acts as an expeditor in producing the drawings while PSI retains full control and responsibility for the engineering and performance of the energy system. The engineering firm is totally indemnified against system performance.
The engineering costs of a PSI designed energy system are a fraction of conventional engineering costs because PSI eliminates risk for the engineering firm. Therefore, the cost of the PER is funded 100% by the engineering cost savings.
Throughout the PER process, PSI serves as the owner’s representative and is accountable for all aspects of the PER.
√ PSI Engineering provides the Control Engineering and Detail Design drawings.
√ PSI Engineering provides Mechanical P&ID drawings to the Engineer of Record.
√ PSI teams with the Engineer of Record and/or a MEP firm to handle the detail design drawings for mechanical, piping and electrical power.
PSI’s total control of the PER process speeds it up. Rapid progress in all phases of the energy system design and construction process is a hallmark of PSI.
