YOUR BEST ENERGY SOLUTION
Integrating Renewable Energy
PSI often uses hydronic systems in our energy designs. The
systems have the capability of gathering heat from all
sources and using that power source cost effectively to
adjust to the energy demands of a building.
√ Thermal Solar is a very cost effective method,
especially in the spring and fall, of using the sun’s energy
to supplement a hydronic system.
√
Ground source heat recovery can be used to heat or cool
a hydronic loop.
√
A pond over 12 feet deep functions as a cooling tower
in summer, providing cool water for a hydronic loop, and a
warm water source in winter when temperature inversion
occurs after ice forms on the top of the pond and warm water
is forced to the bottom.
√ Photovoltaic solar and wind turbines can significantly reduce peak load costs and brownout liability.
